I'm actually thankful that it's Monday today. This weekend was crazy. Resonance did special music for another one of those "STAYS" meetings at McAllen Central Friday night. I learned the song an hour before we had to leave - I didn't even know we were doing something!
Then the next morning, Resonance had to do praise time for first service. Mike Tucker (Arlington, SDA) was the special guest and he delivered a wonderful sermon about Psalm 23. I really enjoyed it! It was excellent. I know have a new found appreciation for shepherds and have realized just how dumb sheep are. I also found out that he graduated from VGA! And he also went to UTPA for his graduate degree. It's a small world.
After first service, it was off to the gymnasium for Alumni Weekend - which we also did the song service and special music for. The people who were sharing their "memories" were people that I actually knew so I wasn't so bored... But sitting in the front row, staring at the bells made me miss playing. Then Keith told me that they were going to ask us to play for today, but since we were gone last night for our little gig in McAllen, we obviously couldn't do it. Wow, what a dumber. Maybe next year.
Sunday proved to be just as busy. Played for a local church on 6th street. And despite a few minor glitches, it turned out very well. I went home to the massive pile of laundry, ironing, and messy room that was waiting for me.
I'm glad today is Monday.
